|Redefining Deconstructive Skills
Creating and exhibiting artwork is the most important thing for me. The Talent Development funding will support fees for two short courses and a research trip to London to inspire a new body of work. I will be attending a creative writing course as well as summer course at The Slade in low-tech casting.
The key end target to my project was to develop a body of work – which has not been completed, but the back ground work has been.
Having also got into BNC2014 has given me an extra push to want to make a serious coherent body of work which I believe is starting to happen.
My understanding and confidence with sculpting materials is growing. I have favoured ready-mades in the past, and now can make my own objects.
I have had the hurdles of studying an MA and moving, but I don’t feel this has/will stop me from developing artwork. I have just had to accept a slower process than I would like. And sometimes accept that my practice is reading and using sketchbooks.
Currently I am still very new to Bristol, but have laid good foundations for myself, by getting into a studio pool, as well as making connections with serious artists in the area.
