The Sorting Office

The Sorting Office is the latest addition to the growing portfolio of creative hubs in Eastleigh and is now part of an exciting European-funded enterprise programme. The new space offers affordable workspace to artists and creative industries within a supportive environment to help residents to develop their practises and grow their creative businesses.

Working in partnership with Eastleigh Borough Council, a space arts will manage the building which is conveniently located just a short walk away from Eastleigh’s train and bus stations, and within a five minute drive from both the M3 and M27 motorways.

Converted from the former Royal Mail Sorting Office built in the 1920s, this unique space offers open plan units, lockable private units and a production studio for large scale projects. There is also a loading bay and a secure car park.

  • Easy in/easy out resident agreements;
  • Single affordable monthly payments (from £120pcm);
  • Flexible workspace with 24/7 secure access;
  • Mentorship and business development programmes;
  • Personal broadband connection;

The Sorting Office – ‘a space’ arts hand over to Eastleigh Borough Council

After four fantastic years managing the Sorting Office studios and working in partnership with Eastleigh Borough Council ‘a space’ arts’ management contract will be coming to end in September 2017.

Having completed our partnership obligations to establish an affordable studio project in Eastleigh town centre we will now be handing the management of the Sorting Office over to Eastleigh Borough Council.

‘The experience of working with the talented artists, designers and makers at the Sorting Office has been a great pleasure. We have enjoyed offering our expertise to this cohort of talent and Eastleigh Borough Council. Having now firmly delivered our original partnership objective we are handing the reigns over to the local authority’ – Daniel Crow, Director ‘a space’ arts.
